The Wheel and Cog Museum always places the safety of its guests first.
Here are the special precautions we are taking due to COVID-19 outbreak:
The museum has been closed for thorough cleaning and sanitation, while awaiting guidance from the State of Minnesota and our Board of Directors for safe reopening.
New 2-hour reservation-only playtimes will begin starting August 4, 2020, with an hour cleaning time worked in the schedule between reservations for thorough cleaning and sanitation of the facility, toys, and structures. This means we’ve increased the frequency in which we clean and sanitize our exhibits and toys throughout the day, in addition to maintaining our nightly cleaning schedule.
We will closely follow the recommendations and guidelines set forth by the Center for Disease Control (CDC), the Association of Children’s Museums (ACM), and State of Minnesota COVID business reopening guidelines that means staff, volunteers, and adult guests will wear masks at all times. Children over 6 are required to wear masks while at the museum as well.
Hand sanitizer will be provided throughout the museum and guests encouraged to wash their hands before and after visiting. Any adult or child exhibiting any symptom or not feeling well should not enter the museum. Parents should observe for symptoms or check for fever prior to arriving.
Anyone who tests positive for COVID following a visit to the museum should notify us immediately at [email protected]
Our staff works diligently on providing a clean and safe environment, and we reserve the right to refuse admission to anyone who presents signs of illness including excessive coughing, sneezing, fever, and/or heavy nasal discharge.
